Linda Pirtle earned her B.A. in English at the University of Texas at Arlington and her Masters Degree in Education at East Texas State, now known as Texas A&M. She has taught all upper grade levels, eight grade through twelfth grade and junior college. In addition to her teaching career, Linda served as an administrator for Ennis ISD. Linda is an ordained elder in the Presbyterian Church where she leads the Westminster adult Sunday school class.

She and her husband Caleb established Caleb and Linda Pirtle.com a website connecting authors and readers. She has published The Mah Jongg Murders, book one in her series entitled The Games We Play, and Deadly Dominoes is book two. Tarot Terrors will be released in 2018.

 

Mah Jongg Murders, The

In The Mah Jongg Murders, protagonist Lillian Prestridge lives at Leisure Lake, a gated community deep in the heart of East Texas. She loves riddles and receives the puzzle of her life when she discovers the body of an unknown woman lying on the edge of the lake near Lillian's home. Three successive murders, including the assassination of one her Mah Jongg friends, baffle the authorities -- the county sheriff and the head of security at the lake.But Lillian, along with her Standard White Poodle, follow the subtle clues and solve the mystery. However, not every character in the book is pleased with the outcome which leads to the arrest of the murderer.

Caddo Lake, with cypress and ancient oaks dripping with Spanish moss, provides the perfect backdrop for murder. The murder of Lillian’s Mah Jongg partner prompted her desire to seek refuge in a new environment. Their first stop is Caddo Lake in the Cypress basin of northeast Texas. Caddo Lake has existed from time eternal and is home to unusual events, including its violent origin. Lillian is puzzled by but ignores the warning: “You’d better be careful. Crazy things have been happening out at that RV Park at Caddo Lake.” Lillian delves into solving the strange events – an explosion and murder. Who is the person or persons leaving dominoes and curses on the bodies of one murder victim after another? And what does the explosion have to do with the game of dominoes or murder?
